Suica cards for your children?
Suica is very useful for your stay in Japan. Without buying your tickets at the vending machine you can ride the public transport almost all over Japan. Suica is not only for such uses, it is a very popular e-money in Japan.
If you travel as an adult person, it is easy to get your Suica card. But If you are travelling with your children up to 6 years in Japan, you must buy their tickets at the vending machine.

You can get Suica cards
for your children like this!
You can buy a Suica card for your child at the “Midori no Madoguchi”, JR service center. Bring the valid ID (Passport) of your child and fill out the formula. 500 Yen is needed as a deposit.
Until your child is 12 years old, they can use their own Suica card with a child fee.
If your child is 12 years old, but it is before 31.03. your child can use their Suica for children.
The Suica kids card is a personalised card and not transferable. The name of user is shown on the card and the red lights on the gate flash when used. It means that the user of the card is a child.The staff of the station checks if the user is really a child with their own eyes. It takes only 1 or 2 seconds.
The most successful penguin in Japan?
This lovely penguin has been used as main mascot of the Suica since 2001. It has no name but it is known as its profile “It came to Tokyo from the South Pole”.
Because of its lovely look many things with this penguin are on sale. Moreover the Suica Penguin’s park in Shinjuku opened in 2017. If you want to take a rest near the Shinjuku station, it would be worth to visit .
